Special Education Advocate
At the law office of Beth Karon Goldberg, we are committed to providing the legal expertise, advocacy, and representation students need to make meaningful educational progress in school.
In our view, educational progress refers not only to academics, but also to the many aspects of students’ growth, such as social skills, behavioral regulation, independent living and vocational skills.
We represent students with a wide range of physical, developmental and medical disabilities. These include learning disabilities, seizure disorders, emotional disturbance, mental illness, anxiety disorders, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), intellectual disability, speech and language disorder, Tourette syndrome, cerebral palsy, genetic anomalies, and school phobia. In addition, we represent students on the autism spectrum including pervasive developmental disorder, Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism.
Students with special needs deserve a free appropriate public education (FAPE). Unfortunately, they don’t always get the accommodations and specialized instruction rightfully due them under state and federal law.
If you or your student is having any difficulty within an educational setting or is interested in estate planning, see “How We Can Help” and contact us by telephone or email.
